Summary

Marrying data and design is my passion. I enjoy working with CMS like Wordpress as well as coding out creatives into efficient HTML and CSS. User interface design is very important, and that is what I'm striving for. I'm concentrating mostly on interactive web functionality, but plan to include interactive media in general. I enjoy learning and working with PHP, jQuery, Wordpress and other dynamic, database-backed systems. I hope to add CodeIgniter and RubyOnRails sometime in the future. For now, I enjoy transforming concepts into live web interfaces. I consider myself intermediate to advanced at HTML and CSS, and beginner to intermediate in Wordpress, PHP, jQuery, mySQL, XML, and Ajax. But, I'm willing to learn for any project.

Graphic Designer with The Press Enterprise
from 1999 — 2000 (1 year )This was a great experience at a small weekly paper. For Press Enterprise, I created blue-lines and paste ups for the paper, as well as designing ads every week. This gave me a good idea of working in a somewhat fast-paced environment, as well as experience collaborating with ad reps. My favorite part of this position, besides getting to design, was the old-school paste up and blue-lining that was done each issue.
